Charles Abimbola Faseyi
Charles Abimbola Faseyi is a postdoctoral fellow at the African Synthesis Centre for Climate Change, Environment and Development (ASCEND), University of Cape Town (UCT), where he contributes to developing guidance for conserving African biodiversity under climate change. He holds an MSc in Zoology (Ecology and Environmental Biology) and a PhD in Integrated Coastal Zone Management. His research interests include coastal ecology, ecosystem functions and processes, ecological modelling, and climate change adaptations. His previous research focused on the socio-ecological assessment of estuarine systems in Ghana and the impacts of global change on coastal ecosystems in South Africa. In his current role, Charles collaborates with researchers and conservation practitioners to develop Africa-specific guidelines for biodiversity conservation under climate change. His work involves collating evidence of climate change adaptation across sub-Saharan Africa and collaborating with the Conservation Evidence group at the University of Cambridge to synthesise evidence on climate change adaptation interventions for African birds.
