Tegan Gibaud
Tegan completed her undergraduate and Honours in Biodiversity and Ecology before coming to the University of Cape Town for her MSc in Climate Change and Sustainability in 2024. Her Masters dissertation, titled "Tailoring Tomorrow: A sustainability transition analysis of the South African fashion industry", explores the South African fashion industry through the lens of a multi-level perspective. It applies the concepts of barriers and drivers, and a strong actor focus, to understand the state of the industry with regard to a sustainable transition.
During her time doing her Masters, she participated in the Bioeconomy Group with Professor Rachel Wynberg, spent time connecting with students in outdoor societies, and took on the role of a research assistant with the Khusela Ikamva Campus Sustainability project, under Britta Rennkamp. This role will conclude at the end of 2026, as the project completes its cycle.
