Debbie Sparks

Expertise: Climate change, climate change mitigation, youth, training, capacity building

Debbie Sparks is a Senior Researcher at ACDI and has more than 20 years of experience working in the broad climate change arena. Her current research interests are on climate change and youth. Her expertise and strengths include research in the fields of energy and climate change, capacity building, curriculum design, teaching and training. Debbie has co-convened the ACDI Masters' module on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation since its inception. She delivers training and assistance to developing countries under the UNFCCC's Technology Needs Assessment project. Debbie holds a MSc and PhD in Environmental and Geographical Science from the University of Cape Town.
