Andreas is a biodiversity scientist whose research focuses on understanding the impacts of climate change on species, ecosystems, and people. He employs computational tools to predict when and where climate risks to biodiversity and people will emerge, and uses this information to support informed decision-making and adaptive management for both nature and people. His work also involves exploring the potential risks to biodiversity from emerging approaches such as carbon dioxide removal and solar radiation modification. Andreas is also interested in understanding how climate mobility and biodiversity conservation will interact in Africa, and how adaptive management strategies can address the challenges posed by this interaction. Other research interests include macroecology and evolutionary biology.Andreas holds a PhD in Zoology from Universidade Federal do Paraná, Brazil, with a stay at the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona, USA.
