Sivuyisiwe Situngu

Designation: Assistant Coordinator: Training & Capacity Development Portfolio 

Sivu Situngu is an Assistant Coordinator for the Education portfolio, a unit that administers scientific capacity development, exchange programs and capacity development research at the ACDI.

Sivu holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Botany at Rhodes University and a Bachelor of Science with Honor’s degree in Biodiversity Conservation from the same institution. She has a broad interest in climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation and environmental education. Her previous research focused on plant animal interactions, specifically looking at the plant-mite mutualism from an African perspective.
