Pamela Ntshangase
Pamela holds a BSc in Environmental and Geographical Sciences and Archaeology from the University of Cape Town, followed by an Honours in Atmospheric Science. Their Honours research focused on indoor heat stress in low-income housing, supervised by Professor Mark New as part of the HABVIA project. They are now completing a Master’s in Climate Change and Development, with a research focus on evaluating the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) for assessing heat stress across diverse African climates. Their current research is co-supervised by Professor Mark New (ACDI), Professor Lara Dugas (School of Public Health), and Dr Thandi Kapwata (South African Medical Research Council). Pamela is passionate about applying data-driven methods to climate adaptation challenges, with longstanding interests in atmospheric science and Earth systems.
