Olivia Smargiasso

Olivia Smargiasso is originally from Johannesburg and later Stellenbosch. She holds a BSc Honours in Earth Science, specialising in Environmental Geochemistry, from Stellenbosch University. Her research interests include climate governance, geochemistry, and the intersections between environmental and social justice. Through this programme, she hopes to expand her knowledge of climate change from scientific, political, and economic perspectives, while strengthening her role as an environmental advocate. She is also eager to build new networks and gain diverse insights into the global climate landscape.
