Rapheal Wangalwa
Dr. Raphael Wangalwa holds a PhD in Biology specializing in Ecology and is a Lecturer in the Department of Biology at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), Uganda. He is currently based at the Institute for Climate Change and Adaptation (ICCA), University of Nairobi, Kenya, as an ARUA/Carnegie–Mastercard Early Career Research Fellow.
His research focuses on agro-climatic suitability modelling for major food crops under climate change, integrating GIS, remote sensing, and ecological modelling to support climate-resilient agriculture and biodiversity conservation. He serves as PI/Co-PI on several projects, including the SPUN-funded FUNGI-BIP mycorrhizal fungi project, the EU-funded INTERACT-Africa green technologies initiative, and GoU-funded crop suitability modelling for banana, maize, and cassava.
