Ezekiel Acquaah
Dr. Ezekiel Acquaah is an Environmental and Climate Scientist and a Research Fellow with the Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies of the University of Ghana. He holds a PhD in Environmental Management from the University of South Africa, MPhil in Environmental Science from the University of Ghana and BSc Chemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He has both industrial and tertiary education experience within the circles of environmental/climate change management, water quality/resources management, occupational health and safety and research development management. Industrially, he worked with some environmental consulting firm including Shef Consortium Ltd and briefly with Sal Consult that consulted for industries including Shell Ghana Ltd, Fan Milk Ltd and Guinness Ghana Breweries Plc. He also worked briefly with the Environmental Unit of the Tema Oil Refinery and with Ghana Standards Authority before joining the University of Ghana where he began with research development management, a position he held for over ten years. With his academic career, he began as a teaching assistant with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He served as a part-time lecturer with the Wisconsin International University College where he taught climate change impacts and environmental policy and was also part of the team that developed a short course and a Master of Science (MSc) Programme in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management for the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development. In addition to currently being a Research Fellow with the Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies of the University of Ghana, he also serves as a reviewer to international journals including the Earth Systems and Environment Journal and the Africa Journal of Science, Technology, Innovation and Development. He is also a fellow of the Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA). His research interests are environmental management, climate change management, water quality and resources management, green energy and occupational health and safety. He is part of a collaborative research team working on the project “Standards for official statistics on Climate-Health Interactions”
