Prof. Opere is a professor of meteorology at the Department of Earth and Climate Sciences. He is an expert in hydrologic systems and climate change impacts. His research interests include climate change adaptation and mitigation, hydrometeorology, water resources assessment and management, climate and disaster risk reduction and management, urban hydrology, and sustainable urban water resources. He has played key roles in both national and international engagements including flood risk assessments, assessments of urban resilience from climate and environmental threats among others.
