Rodgers Kawooya

Before his move to the University of Cape Town (UCT), Rodgers completed his undergraduate studies at Makerere University, earning a First-Class Honours degree in Bachelor of Education, majoring in Geography with three years of experience in teaching and research. At UCT, Rodgers’ thesis titled Social acceptance of clean cooking fuels in Uganda and South Africa: a comparative study between Kampala and Cape Town, focused on the social, economic, infrastructural, health-environmental, technical, and policy-regulatory determinants of adoption of clean cooking technologies in urban Sub-Saharan African settings. This work was part of the GreenQUEST Project under Working Package (WP) 5, led by Britta Rennkamp.

During his masters, Rodgers tutored undergraduate students at EGS Department, and also volunteered as an academic mentor for new students in the Science Faculty.
