Ruhan Jansen van Rensburg

Ruhan Jansen van Rensburg is a 22-year-old environmental enthusiast from Klerksdorp in the North-West province who completed his Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences with a focus on Geology and Geography at the North-West University in 2022. Following this, he finalised his Honours in Geography and Environmental Management at the North-West University in 2023. During his studies, he interned at Blue Crane Environmental where he gained some experience in mapping used for Environmental Impact Assessment reports. As of 2024, Ruhan has moved to Cape Town and is currently pursuing a master's in Climate Change and Sustainable Development at the University of Cape Town. Ruhan's research interests centre around evaluating environmental management systems and innovative solutions like clean energy and green infrastructure for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in South Africa.
