Luckson Zvobgo
Luckson is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ACDI, University of Cape Town where he is working on "Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA) to Climate Change” project. He is working closely with African Group of Negotiators to UNFCCC on GGA, researching and development of the GGA framework, including the implementation modalities such as the GGA targets, metrics, and indicators for assessing progress. Luckson is an interdisciplinary researcher on broad human development issues with a special focus on water management, climate change adaptation, impacts, vulnerability and risk assessment; and sustainable development – leveraging indigenous and local knowledge in community development and sustainable environmental management.
Luckson was the Chapter Scientist to and Contributing Author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 6th Assessment, Working Group II regional Africa Chapter (9) – Africa climate change impacts, adaptation, and vulnerability. Luckson’s PhD assessed the role of indigenous and local knowledge on climate adaptation for smallholder farmers. He worked with smallholder farmers in Chiredzi, Zimbabwe for this research project.
