1-day workshop to develop a Strategic Framework and Implementation Plan form Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) in South Africa
DEA and SANBI invite you to a 1-day workshop taking place on 10 and 11 February 2016 to develop a Strategic Framework and Implementation Plan for
Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) in South Africa
The Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) has requested the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) to develop a Strategic Framework and Overarching Implementation Plan for Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) in support of the DEA’s broader programme of work on biodiversity and climate change.
Ecosystem-based Adaptation is the use of biodiversity and ecosystem services as part of an overall adaptation strategy to help people adapt to the adverse effects of climate change.
The workshop is part of a broader consultation process to ensure the EbA strategic framework and its implementation plan reflects the priorities of the biodiversity sector. The Strategic Framework will enable South Africa to implement the EbA programme of work over the next five years in a manner that supports the broader national and international policy agenda.
The workshop will take place at the Milkplum Restaurant at SANBI Pretoria. An agenda with further information about the workshop will be circulated in due course.
Please RSVP to f.martin@sanbi.org.za to confirm your attendance.
