The Flooding in Cape Town under Climate Risk (FliCCR) Project Report

The  Flooding in Cape Town under Climate Risk (FliCCR) Project has just released a report on its findings from research undertaken in Cape Town over the past 3 years. From personal accounts of those living in flood affected areas, to the challenges facing the local government officials in the City of Cape Town, this report provide insights into the complexities related to managing the problem of urban flooding in a growing urban city like Cape Town. A bit about the project: 'The power of collaborative governance: Managing the risks associated with flooding and sea-level rise in the City of Cape Town'

There are a number of ACDI affliated departments and research units that have worked on Flooding in Cape Town under Climate Risk (FLICCCR) over the past 3 years. These include the African Centre for Cities, the Centre of Criminology,  the Environmental and Geographical Sciences Department.  This project aims to understand and strengthen the governance system that determines how risks associated with flooding and sea-level rise are addressed in the city of Cape Town, South Africa.
