Daniel Olago
Prof. Daniel Olago is the Director of the Institute for Climate Change & Adaptation (ICCA) and Chairman of the Department of Earth and Climate Sciences. He brings over two decades of interdisciplinary experience at the intersection of climate change, environmental science, and public systems in East Africa. He has led numerous climate resilience projects in the health, water, and education sectors and has coordinated diverse, multidisciplinary teams in both academic and applied research contexts. Prof. Olago holds a Ph.D. in Geology with a specialization in climate-environment interactions, and his work has focused extensively on climate adaptation strategies, disaster risk reduction, and resilience building for vulnerable systems and communities. His extensive stakeholder engagement across government, development partners, and community groups, combined with deep regional knowledge and policy advisory experience, makes him highly qualified to guide climate-resilient transformations in health and education systems.
