The African Climate and Development Initiative (ACDI) at the University of Cape Town (UCT) is offering a number of full and partial scholarships to fund the completion of ACDI's MSc/MPhil degree specialising in Climate Change and Sustainable Development in 2017.

This full time one-year taught Master’s course provides interdisciplinary training in climate change and sustainable development, with a focus on the issues of relevance to African development. The course is convened by ACDI but brings together academics and research units from across UCT with a shared interest in interdisciplinary research and solutions to the climate change problem. The course has rapidly become recognised as an internationally competitive program that builds climate change science capacity of both early and mid-career practitioners, and acts as a stepping stone for students wishing to pursue doctoral level studies in climate change.

The Masters course consists of two compulsory core modules and two elective modules. A 90-credit dissertation is submitted by the end of January following the year of registration, with possible extension to June that year.
Please read more about the degree and how to apply here. The deadline for applications to be guaranteed consideration for 2017 entry is 31 August 2016.
Please note that your application for any of the opportunities below and your application for a place on the Masters programme are two separate processes. You should follow both processes at the same time.  However, only applicants accepted onto the Masters course will be considered for a scholarship.
