Problems and Solutions for Climate Change Resilience and Adaptation in Mozambique, in association with the United Nations Development Programme, 2016 – 2017

The “Problems and Solutions for Climate Change Resilience and Adaptation in Mozambique” research project was formulated in response to a call for proposals circulated by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Mozambique. The ACDI was awarded funding for a research proposal to contribute to the following primary research question: “What is the current state of adaptation knowledge in Mozambique and how can it be enhanced to enable more effective climate adaptation responses that work for the most vulnerable?”.

In participation with partners at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM, Maputo), the ACDI project team will undertake innovative and multi-disciplinary research on the state of adaptation knowledge in Mozambique, with a particular focus on the agriculture sector, thereby building on the insights and lessons learned of the ongoing PROSUL project in Mozambique. The primary aim of the UNDP research project is to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of national communications and awareness-raising on climate change, thereby improving the delivery of government services and development assistance to climate-vulnerable groups (particularly with respect to the agriculture sector)
