Dr Nadine Methner
Nadine Methner joined the ACDI as a postdoctoral researcher in climate change response in the agricultural sector in December 2014. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, Nadine is currently assisting the provincial government of the Western Cape, South Africa to develop a practical and locally relevant climate change response strategy for the agricultural sector of the province. Nadine is very passionate about the project as it combines meaningful stakeholder engagement with state of the art science in an attempt to strengthen the resilience of the agricultural sector and to create opportunities for innovation and collaboration across the value chain. Nadine completed her PhD in the Department of Environmental and Geographical Science at the University of Cape Town in 2014.
SmartAgri was a collaborative project between the Western Cape Department of Agriculture (DOA) and the Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs & Development Planning (DEA&DP), and the University of Cape Town’s African Climate and Development Initiative (ACDI), and was aimed at creating sustainable climate smart responses for increased resilience in agriculture.
