Leslie Ashburner

 Leslie has worked in academic, private, government and non-profit organisations in South Africa, in the field of education and sustainable development.  Leslie’s MPhil in Climate Change and Sustainable Development (UCT) included a dissertation on the intangible co-benefits of environmental job creation projects.

 Leslie is currently working at UCT’s African Climate and Development Initiative (ACDI). She is part of the team coordinating and managing the development of a curriculum for the SARUA Master’s in Climate Change and Sustainable Development. The project draws on the collective expertise of a consortium of southern African academics (from South Africa, Namibia, Mauritius, Mozambique and Tanzania) to develop a new, innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum in climate change and sustainable development.
