ACDI Post-Graduate Student Network

The ACDI Climate Change and Development Post-Graduate Student Network was  borne out of the African Climate and Development Initiative’s first Student Conference on Climate Change and Development which was held in Cape Town on the 4th of March, 2015.  The well-attended conference was successful in both promoting student research in the field of climate change and developing networks between delegates. True to the ACDI’s Afro-centric and interdisciplinary values, attendees and presenters came from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds.

The hope is to build a network that it will support post-graduate students working within subject areas related to climate change  and development at UCT and other universities in the Western Cape, providing support and guidance through the student’s research journey. We specifically hope to provide support for students who are working, or would like to work in an interdisciplinary research environment.

This network is a reinvigoration of what was previously the ACDI Graduate Network, which in previous years brought together a wide range of students from across UCT who were working in the climate change and sustainable development space.
